Chunky Salsa (Low Sodium Version)

can of diced tomatoes no salt added
can of tomato sauce no salt added
(these unless you can find a larger can of crushed tomatoes no salt added)
chopped white onion to taste
jalapeños to taste
yellow hots (aka banana wax peppers) to taste, when in season
1 clove garlic or to taste
salt (may substitute garlic salt for both, low sodium salt sub. or eliminate for heart healthy)


Dice white onion, jalapeños and yellow hots.
Combine all ingredients in a medium size bowl. Serve immediately or refrigerate over night for a hotter version.
(Generally I use 28oz can of crushed tomatoes without the puree, ¼ of a medium sized onion, 2 large jalapeños, 2 large yellow hots, and approx. one teaspoon of garlic salt.)
